Another short clip from @keltskanoc thanks to @bobbie.safranova
Happy Friday everyone! #tgif
Thursday blast from the past. This was back 2008 or 2009. We were on the deck of a ferry sailing out of Dublin looking back at the city. We were heading out to Europe for six weeks tour to promote Cirque de Sliotar.
Shoutout Wednesday! Here is our good friends Poitin who are based in Plzen in Czech Republic. They are a powerhouse in the local Celtic scene and also really nice guys 👍🏻 check out www.poitin.cz
If you ever have been at any Sliotar show, I'm sure you know we have very strong connection with the audience. Often the party continues well past the show, as we want to hold on to that connection. Now we want to build that connection beyond the show. As we have hinted in the past few posts, we have massive plans for 2018, but we cannot do this alone. We need your help. You can start by signing up to our newsletter at: http://www.sliotarmusic.com/sliotar-clan/
And please share this link with anybody who you think should be part of the Sliotar clan 👍🏻
Nice behind the scenes shot from the summer tour 😊
Life on the road has its ups and downs. Little things like keeping in contact with people back at home becomes a very important thing. This was Des after our show in Telc.
Sliotar in the @vagon_club_praha last month. It was a rocking night! Were you there? Anybody have any more photos from this summers tour send them our way 😊 Also if you want to join the Sliotar clan, signup to our mailing list at http://www.sliotarmusic.com/sliotar-clan/ 🤘👍🏻 We are planning some big things 😉
Weary soldier during the Keltska noc Celtic festival in Czech Republic 😉 We have big and ambitious plans for 2018. Where would you want to see Sliotar play next year?
Des laying a beat to light up the Moravian night, Celtic music filling our souls. Sliotar, three becomes a one, and after first few notes the audience becomes a part of that one. We love you guys!
Thursday blast from the past. How many of you remember our first tour bus? If only those walls could talk 😂
Des and J.P. rocking it at the @keltskanoc celtic festival
Ray telling us a story about the Scattery Island
The wonderful Courtyard of the Castle in Telc. It is the main venue of the Prázdniny v Telči festival. Playing here is just pure magic.
Might look like they are just killing time, but both Tomás and Des are working really hard on this picture 😉
New website starting to take shape 😉 Exciting times! It's still work in progress, but we'd love to hear what you think about it so far?
The audience in Telc is always amazing, but I think this year we had the biggest and the loveliest crowd 😊
Des doing his thing in Telc
Thank you to Jana Vondrusova for this wonderful review of our show last week in Kurim. Check it out here: http://www.musicfromtheheart.eu/celtic-party-in-kurim-clan-hannigan-and-sliotar
Sliotar is all about the celtic music, but it is the audience who feed our energy. We love you all!
For the next week or so I'll be hiding myself in a quiet corner of the office to redesign Sliotar's website. While I am at it, the site might look bit messed up, but bare with me, the new website is going to be hopefully a huge improvement on the old one. Also if you have any ideas or wishes for the website, let us know in the comments 😊👍🏻 This is going to take a lot of coffee and few sleepless nights 😉 J.P. from Sliotar
For those of you who don't know him, this is Tomás Somr. He in a many way is the fourth member of Sliotar. He is our manager, but also he is going to be producing our next album with us. Did I just mention new album? More on that later 😉
Thanks to @bobbie.safranova for making this photo of us during yesterday's soundcheck in Telč. It has been a fantastic tour! Thank you to all the organizers of all the shows. We really appreciate all of the hard work you guys do. Big thanks to Tomás Somr, our hard working manager and last but not least, big thank you to the thousands of you who came to see us in the past few weeks. Without you guys we could not do what we do. Great things ahead #2018yearofsliotar
One of our favorite places, Telč. What a show, what a tour!
It was a Thursday night in Kurim and it had been raining a lot, so we did not know what to expect from the show. But the crowds at the Sliotar shows really are the best! It was a rocking night and the crowd danced the night away. Massive thank you to @clanhannigan for sharing the night with us and @piri_javelka for the photo.
"Cirque de Sliotar" live at the @keltskanoc Celtic festival one week ago. Only 51 weeks to the next years festival. Can't wait 😊 Thank you to @bobbie.safranova for the video.
Born in Finland and spent half of his life in Ireland, J.P. Kallio sings and takes care half of Sliotar's rhythm section with his acoustic guitar always tuned to DADGAD
Ray MacComac, master of the whistle, singer of heart felt songs and an Uilleann Piper. Ray's playing is the cornerstone of Sliotar's sound
Our drummer extraordinaire Des Gorevan giving it socks at the @keltskanoc Celtic festival. Tag if you were there 👊
It was a quiet night off in Prague in between shows. #lifeontheroad can take it's toll and having a good team is vital. Twenty years Sliotar has been a band and the last 17 with the current lineup. We have played in 15 countries (that we can remember) thousands of shows and still love it every chance we get to do it 😊 🎶 #musicislife
